A. Charles Kogut is a 1974 graduate from the University of Illinois and earned his Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School in 1978. Mr. Kogut (Chuck) has devoted his practice to the area of probate and trust litigation for over 40 years and has handled numerous will and trust contests, citation proceedings to recover assets into estates, actions for breach of contract to make a will, lost will cases, heirship matters and numerous issues that arise in probate cases as well as general administration of decedent estates.
Daniel concentrates his practice in the areas of trust and probate litigation, estate and trust administration, and fiduciary defense litigation.
While working at Kogut & Associates, Daniel has handled a wide variety of contested estate and trust issues, including representing Executors and Trustees in defending against will and trust contests. Daniel has also defended and prosecuted citation proceedings that seek to recover misappropriated assets into a decedent’s estate. Additionally, Daniel has been appointed by the probate court to act as a Special Administrator to assist in the administration of decedents’ estates.
Daniel earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude. During law school, Daniel served as a judicial extern for both the Honorable Samuel Der-Yeghiayan of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Honorable Elizabeth Budzinski of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Prior to law school, Daniel graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Legal Studies, graduating with Distinction.
Stacy B. Kogut, an associate, practices in the areas of estate administration and trust and probate litigation with a focus on issues involving heirship in decedent’s estates.
Stacy earned her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School, where she graduated Cum Laude, and also studied international law through the American University Washington College of Law in London, Paris, Brussels and Geneva. Stacy earned her Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Illinois, graduating with honors.
